 The annual Veterans’ Day Parade will be held on November 11, 2008 in downtown Austin, TX. The event kicks off at 9 AM from the Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge and travels up to the Capital Building. Viewing is available all along Congress Avenue and there will be a reviewing stand at the Steven F. Austin Hotel at Congress and 7th. Stay for the 11 AM Ceremony at the South Capital steps. A special flyover is scheduled for the start of the Memorial Ceremony,at 11 AM, performed by the Commemorative Air Force from San Marcos, TX. Watch for 1 of only 2 remaining P-39’s (from 10,000 production models) and a number of AT-6 Texans.

The North American Texan trainer is one of the most important aircraft of all time and is universally recognized. First built as the NA-16 in 1935, the Texan was in continual production for nearly 10 years and in active use for more than five decades. Primarily used as a trainer, the Texan remains a favorite among Warbird collectors around the world.

 Veterans’ Day is a day to honor and support the current and former members of the United States Armed Services. At 11 AM, on November 11, 2008, there will be an appropriate ceremony at the Texas Capital Building (South steps), in Austin, TX., to thank all the men and women who serve or have served to defend and protect this great country.

 The theme of the Commemoration Program at the South Steps of the State Capitol will be honoring "Women of the Military Past and Present".

Hundreds of thousands of Women have served

 The Parade welcomes any group that wants to show support for the troops. Just fill out the application and fax it to 512-854-4453. For more information call 512-854-9340.

 We can always use extra funds to help support this event as the Parade is put on as a community service and uses donations for funding. Any monetary support you can provide will be put to very good use.
